Lhotse is wedged between Everest and Nuptse. It culminates at 8516 meters, making it the fourth highest peak on the planet. Its popularity stems from the fact that Everest climbers return to the region to attempt its summit. They are in a known environment since the route taken will be the same up to the Yellow Band (a little higher than Camp 3). Thereafter, a steep climb in a long corridor ends at the top.
Climbing Lhotse can also be combined with Everest. In recent years, this formula has become popular since it allows you to do the two summits in two days and thus avoid returning a second time.
